Tirana International Airport SHPK (“TIA”) is seeking for a

AIRPORT SAFETY DIRECTOR​

who will report to the Chief Executive Officer of the company.

Main tasks and responsibilities of the position:
(for indicative purposes only. The responsibilities listed below can be subject of change upon recruitment)

• Manage, develop and implement the Airport Safety Management System (SMS) in compliance, with national and international regulations of airport operation; assess and revise it, and ensure its continuous improvement.
• Identify and evaluate aerodrome hazards and weak points and take adequate measures
• Responsible for ensuring compliance with requirements in terms of safety
• Responsible for continuous monitoring of airport operations and developing and implementing new procedures/policies/manuals/SOP-s to ensure safety
• Implement and follow up safety audits, inspections and evaluations of airfield and aeronautical facilities to ensure compliance with safety regulations
• Supervise the application of approved safety measures and procedures to ensure their effective implementation
• Manage relations with state authorities and auditors regarding safety of airport operations
• Participate and liaise in safety audits from national and international agencies and airlines. Follow up and implement respective findings/recommendations
• Maintain an effective reporting system and all safety related information. Responsible to provide relevant safety information and advice to management, staff, customers and suppliers
• Assists in maintaining Operations emergency equipment and supplies to be used to respond to any Airport incidents or accidents

Requirements of the position:

• Bachelor Degree
• At least five years of experience in airport operation
• Adequate practical experience and expertise in aerodrome operations
• Adequate knowledge of safety and quality management
• Comprehensive knowledge of the applicable safety requirements in the area of aerodromes
• Relationship management experience
• Adept at Microsoft Office software
• Accurate and skilled at inspecting and analytical skills
• Ability to perform research, suggest solutions and prepare effective written documents
• Ability to organize, coordinate, prioritize work
• Very good relationship management and negotiation skills
• Very good communication and interpersonal skills
• Advanced level of English language
