Position: Accounting Specialist
Department: Tax & Accounting Department

TIRANA BANK, one of the leading banks in Albania and member of Balfin Group, is currently seeking to hire a hard working, and motivated candidate to join Tax & Accounting Department in the position of Accounting Specialist on temporary basis.

The Accounting Specialist will oversee general accounting and reporting operations by controlling and verifying financial transactions, reconciling and analysing the internal & suspense accounts in support of preparation of monthly financial statements in compliance with regulatory framework.


Responsibilities:
  • Review the accuracy of the trial balance key accounts and other financial information generated within the Unit.
  • Participates in the project on the cleaning of the accounts (being accounts with 0 balances, accounts of closed branches and internal accounts).
  • Review and adjust/amend the mapping of accounts into the financial statements, with the intention of improving it.
  • Participate in analysis and follow ups of the debtors’ accounts, creditors or other various suspense accounts containing suspense operations.
  • Administer the complete accounting procedure concerning provisioning for prepayment of the execution/bailiff expenses, preparing and executing all necessary entries in the accounting system and reconciling the accounts;
  • Administer the complete accounting procedure for recording the impairment of the repossessed collaterals, for statutory and IFRS purposes, which includes preparing and executing the necessary entries in the accounting system and reconciling the accounts;
  • Administer the complete accounting procedure concerning impairment for legal cases (non-loan), preparing and executing all necessary entries in the accounting system and reconciling the accounts;
  • Preparation of the reporting according to Unified Reporting System rules for BOA, up to 10th of each month. Close collaboration with the colleagues of the department for the preparation of the report in order to report the correct data of assets, liabilities, profit and loss, as per format sent and approved by BOA. The complimentary report’s forms must be duly checked for matching the trial balance (assets, liabilities, profit and loss) and duly filled in as per respective regulations approved by BOA regarding Unified Reporting System.
  • Preparation of internal reports that assist the bank’s financial state analysis.
  • Attend all trainings provided by the Bank, which are related to her/his work and to thrive to do her/his job as good as possible.
  • Support the Accountants whenever necessary in their daily operations;
  • Perform ad-hoc tasks that may be assigned by the supervisors

Required experience:
  • At least 3 years of experience in this field, preferably in banking system;

Required competencies / skills:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business administration or Economics;
  • Good knowledge of IFRS standards and National Accounting Standards
  • Good knowledge of Bank of Albania reporting standards
  • To fulfil requirements as specified in the internal Bank Regulations.
  • Proficient knowledge of PC usage.
  • Good knowledge of English language.
