Role Description:
The Operations Manager organizes and leads all aspects of the debt collection operations of the company, in line with the company strategy and plans. S/he secures operations run smoothly, effectively and efficiently, thus leading to the budgeted bottom-line results, operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
Organizational links:
Reports to Managing Director. Subordinates: Collection Agents, Operations middle-management.

Responsibilities :
- Organizes the work of all operations units / personnel, in a way that operations targets are achieved in full and on time
- Maintains an adequate system of KPIs for Operations and monitors them on a regular basis
- Reports on Operations performance and results to the management and headquarters
- Creates and/or maintains all necessary procedures, manuals and other related internal documentation;regularly monitors and assures compliance of Operations personnel to the ethical and work standards approved
- Regularly reviews the operations processes in order to identify improvement opportunities and executes them upon internal alignment
- Act as a Manager on Duty, whenever required
- Acts as a last operative escalation line for debtor complaints and as a management escalation line for customer complaints
- Recruits, with the support of HR, all operations personnel (e.g. collection agents, shift/team leaders, skip-tracing agents, back-office personnel, call operators, etc)
- Trains, with the support of HR, new recruits and periodically re-trains current employees, in order to secure up-to-date knowledge and expertise in all skills, standards and procedures
- Identifies talents amongst the operations personnel and supports their development towards roles of higher accountability with the company
Education and Experience
- Bachelor degree in one of the following fields – Business Studies, Mathematical sciences, Law
- At least 5 years of work experience, of which at least 2 in a mid-or higher managerial position, ideally in the financial industry and related to debt collection / receivables management
- Business knowledge and effective communication
- People management, team-work
- Change and innovation management
- Problem solving and analytical thinking
- Negotiation skills and presentation skills
- Mentoring and/or coaching skills
- General computer literacy – MS Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Internet Explorer
- Language skills – English proficiency
