Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for installing, configuring and maintaining LINUX/UNIX servers in accordance with established standards, policies, procedures and configuration guidelines.
  • Programing in Shell scripts (BASH/KSH), using also AWK or Perl scripting language, in order to fulfill business needs regarding automation, synchronization and Backup &Restore.
  • Configuring web services such as Apache, Tomcat, Jboss and Java environment, according to approved policies and standards.
  • Configuring and maintaining Services such as SAMBA, FTP, SFTP, SSH in Linux and HPUX environment.
  • Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
Qualifications


  • Bachelor degree in Informatics, Computer Science or Computer Engineer
  • Preferably a minimum of 1 year experience in the related position.
  • Very good knowledge of Linux System Distributions like Redhat, Oracle Linux and Centos. Knowledge of HPUX Unix system is an asset.
  • Working knowledge of TCP/IP networks
  • Very good knowledge of Linux Operating System, including file system structure, kernel, Linux Firewall, Linux networks in VMware Virtual Environment, and Linux Services such as Apache/JBoss, SSHD/SFTP/ SAMBA.
  • Practice experience in Shell Scripting BASH/KSH and AWK/Perl scripting language.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to learn quickly.
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision or work in a team-oriented project.
  • Certifications related to Linux/Unix are an asset.
