Job profile​

Title: Chief Accountant

Reporting to: Finance Director

Basic purpose: Bear responsibility for the overall accounting of the business to achieve company’s financial goals


Key tasks:

• Assisting the Finance Director in the budgeting process in relation to accounting and finance reporting
• Preparing and submitting the annual and monthly management accounts and statutory financial statements of the company under local accounting legislation and in accordance with all relevant deadlines and accounting standards
• Preparing monthly, quarterly and annual P&L, balance sheets and cashflow statements
• Maintaining allocation of expenditure among company’s departments
• Bearing responsibility for bookkeeping – manages the General Ledger, accounts payable and receivable, reconciliation of bank and asset accounts, tax remittances
• Maintaining general record of accounts according to established accounting classifications, including various ledgers, registers and journals as well as labour, material and equipment cost accounts
• Establishing inventory control system
• Supervising all tax-related matters, incl. monthly VAT returns and year-end tax closure
• Keeping abreast of changes in the Albanian Financial legislation in view of accounting and financial regulatory issues affecting the company’s business and making appropriate recommendations to the management
• Maintaining contacts with banks, auditors, tax authorities and other institutions
• Managing, developing and training the accounting team

Candidate Profile​

General Requirements:

• University degree in Accounting or Finance (Master’s degree and Certificate of Licensed Accountant would be an asset)
• Minimum 5 years of working experience in Accounting, preferably in the private business
• Very good knowledge of local accounting legislation
• Practical experience of budgeting, forecasting and resource allocation in a large company or a holding
• Excellent ability to interpret and report financial information
• Analytical thinking, excellent problem solving skills
• High-level managerial and interpersonal skills
• Strong communication and team working abilities
• Fluent English
• Excellent computer literacy and strong knowledge of Financa 5 accounting software
