Position: Production Manager
Major tasks and responsibilities (as permanent function at site):
1 Plans and executes, directs and supervises the production activities in all manufacturing blocks
2 Design and manage an efficient organization, empowers employees and fosters cooperation and teamwork
3 Support Process, Engineering & Technology functions in the continuous improvement of existing manufacturing processes as well as in the transfer of new processes and products
4 Promotes and ensure safe working practices at all times across the site and attainment of Production plan on a daily basis within planned hours and planned manning levels
More in detail:
1 To analyze and implement the weekly production plan with manufacturing block managers and shift masters in order to achieve site objectives.
2 To advise Site Head and Logistic head of any potential volume’s shortfall
3 To communicate regularly and effectively with Site Head, in order that they are fully briefed on all aspects of factory operations, in particular, the achievement of productivity standards versus those budgeted
4 To promote minimum reject and wastage of human and other resources and to liaise with Logistic for replenishment
5 To ensure subordinates are aware of and communicate operating efficiencies of processing equipment and any defects
6 To report immediately to Site Head any action required of Engineering /other departments outside his/her control.
7 To initiate and keep up to date with formulation processing developments, advising and recommending any changes which could make qualitative or quantitative improvements to the efficiency, productivity or costs of the operation.
8 To support successful introduction of new products (tech transfer)
9 To ensure that personnel is effectively managed, motivated and trained such that their performance is progressively improved.
10 Ensure that quality and cGMP standards are built into the managed process and into the produced output
11 Create a working environment where innovation, team work and attention to standards improvement are the basis of a ZERO-DEFECT culture
12 He/She is responsible for the operational budget in his/her area (expenses and conversion costs at standards/budget)
Requirements
  • University degree in scientific disciplines with several years of professional work experience
  • Robust and proven knowledge of EU guidelines regarding GMP
  • Proficient in writing, reading and editing technical documents, protocols and reports
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft office products for means of creating and conveying technical information and presentations
  • A very skilled leader, with the understanding of how to develop bridges between disciplines, the person in this role will be a credible discussion partner for upper management and internal/external business leaders.

  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Customer focus; ability to deal with ambiguity and conflicts
  • Languages: English and preferable even Italian
