Job Position: Head of Accounting Sector
Department: Finance and Strategic Development
Division: Finance and Risk Management
Primary objectives:

Acts as a Compliance Agent ensuring the coordination and monitoring of tasks emerging from Compliance and AML Policies for his/her perimeter within the reporting, follow-up and implementation of action plans

Department: Finance and Strategic Development
Division: Finance and Risk Management
Primary objectives:
- Prepare of Balance Sheet on monthly basis and coordinate the Unified Reporting System with Bank’s Directives and the Bank of Albania.
- Prepare Financial Statements in accordance with local rules
- Manage external auditor request in bank level
- Opening and Administration of new accounts in Delta Core System.
- Cooperate in projects and Banks new products preparing the new accounting schema.
- Approves all accounting transactions made by specialists of accounting sector or braches (in cases the transactions consist in operating expenses).
- Cooperate with Credit Risk Management Sector calculating the credit provisions according to the Bank of Albania Administration of Credit Risk Procedure.
- Follow up of the Bank’s intercourse with ASD.
- Supervision of Bank’s Intercourse with the Ministry of Finance.
- Periodic Reporting of Permanent Supervision Controls.
Operational risk objectives
- Assure timely and correct preparation of Balance Sheets and Financial Statements
- Coordinate the preparation and timely reporting to Bank of Albania of the Unified Reporting System and Obligatory Reserve.
- Follow up and assure the application of Tax Legislation, Manuals and other regulations of the Ministry of Finance, Bank of Albania and other reporting Institutions.
- Control the correct booking of transactions by the Accounting Sector Specialists.
- Timely Reporting of Permanent Supervision Controls
- Acts as an Operational Risk Correspondent, ensuring the coordination and monitoring of tasks emerging from Operational Risk Regulations and Policies for his/her perimeter within the reporting, follow-up and implementation of action plans.
- Has a proactive role in the development and maintenance of business continuity of core activities under their responsibility
Compliance and AML objectives
Acts as a Compliance Agent ensuring the coordination and monitoring of tasks emerging from Compliance and AML Policies for his/her perimeter within the reporting, follow-up and implementation of action plans
Key roles & responsibilities:
Management and Monitoring of General Accounting Processes
- Validate posting of automated entries
- Clear book keeping entries by comparison with prior events
- Explain account balances
- Follow and reconcile accounts in suspense or clearing accounts
- Manage Supplier accounting (payable)
- Manage Accounts Receivables (non-banking)
- Manage Fixed Assets accounting (registration, breakdown, outflows)
- Manage closing entries related to overhead expenses (Provision, VAT)
- Closed the Financial Statements as per local rules with related notes to financial statements and ensures consistency and maximum data accuracy
- Efficiently monitors and reports to CFO on the Periodic Controls on quarterly basis
- Design Procedures on Accounting Schema and Control for new products and services
- Implements new Accounting Standards and Regulations related to accounting
- Efficiently monitor the work of the accounting team, their ongoing performance and identifies strength and weaknesses of the employees under supervision
- Follow up on Expenses Accounts VAT books
- Non Deductible Expenses preparation
- Prepayments / Accruals Follow up
- Overhead Expenses Monitoring
- Accruals TB / Mandatory Reserve / calculation of Provisions
- Ensure proper control and reporting of Permanent Controls
Required qualifications
- Bachelor degree on Finance Accounting, MBA will be considered an advantage
- At least 5 years of accounting experience in similar positons
- Demonstrated accounting and BOA financial reporting experience
- Knowledge of applicable IFRS standard in banking sector
- Ability to manipulate large amounts of data
- Excellent command of English Language
