A. POSITION’S SCOPE
The Senior Specialist is responsible to ensure efficient identification and monitoring of suspicious activities and transactions in the bank and ensure on time reporting of suspicious transactions to the AML/CFT Assistant Manager, and the FIU. It is further required to analyze information received from branches and to monitor and report on transactions activity or required to analyze and address AML and economic sanctions related alerts.
B. RESPONSIBILITIES
Carries out his/her duties in compliance with applicable laws and regulations as well as with BKT internal rules, policies and procedures;
Assists the AML/CFT Assistant Manager in his activities to identify and manage potential AML/CFT issues;
Ensures that the AML/CFT IT systems are functioning properly and that they produce the desired results. Implements all amendments needed.
Liaises with colleagues in respective branches who shall support him/her with necessary copies of documents and/or other relevant information;
Receives, investigating, evaluating suspicious activity reports (SARs) and reporting them to the Department Manager / AML/CFT Assistant Manager.
Maintains the investigation database and updating the records at all times;
Monitors cash transactions over ALL 1 million reporting by BKT Branches;
Performs continuous monitoring activity and maintains records regarding the results and conclusions;
Reporting to the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU), in the manner and in the format specified by them, currency transactions reports (CTRs) daily and additional information required;
Searches on the core banking software (Flex Cube) and/or any other bank’s software, etc. and after responding to third party requests timely and accurately;
Is responsible for the information required about BKT customers from the FIU;
Maintains a database of all requests received and reports delivered;
Archives all necessary reports/documents;
Is responsible to execute and follow blocking orders send by the FIU;
Is responsible for the information required from foreign banks about AML – Function;
Provides information to the correspondent banks about all outgoing and incoming transfers of our customers with considerable value;
Performs continuous monitoring of the business relationships with (Politically Exposed Person; Non - Resident Customers, Non - Profit Organizations and Gambling);
Monitors on monthly basis the high-risk customers (Politically Exposed Person, Non-Resident Customers, Non-Profit Organizations and Gambling);
Participates in relevant and appropriate trainings and seminars in response to changes in regulatory requirements;
Ensures that all tasks and duties falling under their responsibility are undertaken in accordance with BKT’s standards in a timely and effective manner;
Performs any other duty assigned by the Department Manager;
C. REQUIREMENTS
C.1 Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or related fields.
Professional certification as Certified Anti - Money Laundering Specialists (ACAMS) or comparable certification highly desirable to have or attain.
C.2 Working Experience:
Minimum of (5) years’ experience in financial services data analysis. AML & Compliance specific experience preferred.
C.3 Specific knowledge:
Very good knowledge of AML/CTF framework, local regulatory framework;
Advanced knowledge of AML/CFT IT systems
Strong analytical skills required to organize and analyze multiple, complex data sets as well as strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
Computer literacy essential (MS Office).
Strong technical skills.
General understanding of market place AML issues and AML suspicious activity transaction monitoring systems, data mining/analytical tools, and KYC automated solutions is helpful.
Strong ability to quickly grasp and understand business unit specific AML risks, develop comprehensive user requirements, and provide recommendations for appropriate automated solutions to mitigate those risks.
