A regional research centre based in Tirana is seeking to hire a qualified candidate for the position of Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) Specialist.
The candidate must have sound experience in environment impact assessment and be knowledgeable /familiar with the area of local governance and waste management.
Duties and Responsibilities
The work required shall include, but not necessarily be limited to, the following activities and related tasks:
1. Preparation of SEA scoping report:
¸ Fact finding/data collection;
¸ Identification of stakeholders;
¸ Engagement of stakeholders;
¸ Review analysis/preparation of final draft of the SEA scoping report;
2. Preparation of SEA report:
¸ Fact finding/data collection; field trip;
¸ Engagement of stakeholders;
¸ Identification and detailed analysis of the potential impacts, constraints and opportunities;
¸ Preparation of recommendations to mitigate negative effects;
¸ Preparation of draft SEA report;
¸ Preparation of the final SEA report (integrating comments received).
On the basis of the time schedule outlined in the project document, the SEA specialist must provide a detailed work plan.
Required Skills and Experience
The SEA specialist must have, at least, a master’s degree in a relevant area environment,
climate change or natural resources / waste management with at least 7 years of relevant professional experience.
(S)he must have proven relevant experience in Albania. Participation in strategic environmental assessments will be an asset.
