Job Title: Sushi Commis (Seasonal – May to September)

Position Summary:
Green Coast Hotel is seeking a motivated Sushi Commis
to join our kitchen team for the peak season from May to September. The Sushi Commis will assist the Sushi Chef in preparing and presenting sushi and sashimi dishes, ensuring quality, consistency, and hygiene. This seasonal role is ideal for candidates looking to gain hands-on experience in Japanese cuisine within a high-volume, luxury resort environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Sushi Chef in preparing and presenting sushi and sashimi dishes.
  • Wash, cut, and prepare ingredients according to recipes and hotel standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station and equipment.
  • Ensure proper storage and handling of fish, seafood, and other ingredients.
  • Adhere strictly to food safety, hygiene, and handling standards.
  • Support portion control and minimize food wastage.
  • Assist in daily kitchen operations and collaborate with the culinary team.
Qualifications:
  • Some experience in a kitchen or sushi preparation is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Basic knowledge of Japanese cuisine and food hygiene standards.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced, seasonal environment.
  • Team player with good communication and organizational skills.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
