Freelance short-time expert: Project manager and Balance Center liaison
job duration 01.08.2022-31.03.2023 (up to 3 days per week)
Location: Tirana, but travels all over Albania, (travel cost and accommodation costs will be covered by the project)
About Balance:
“Balance” Center is newly established NGO with ambition to promote balanced growth of individuals, groups and communities, public and private sector institutions, and organizations. Our mission is to empower and enable people to make the lasting change for their own life and for better Albania.
“Balance” Center equips individuals, communities, business and organizations with tools, knowledge, and connections they need to increase their incomes, and gain access to services – empowering them to make choices and to transform those choices into desired actions and outcomes; to contribute to and benefit from the socio-economic growth development in Albania. Our work focuses on enabling the four factors essential for successful development: participatory development, systemic change, ownership, and contextualized innovative solutions.
Currently, Balance is managing number of projects related to entrepreneurship like IDEA TEYC, and is in pipeline BEYIND IDEA, supporting MSMEs to adjust to the crises like Cosolve 19, enhancing the vulnerable groups to generate economic activities ect.
“Balance” Center team bring together experienced ambitious change agents, and dynamic trusted professionals with broad expertise in the area of entrepreneurship, innovation, business improvement, sustainable economic growth, regional and rural development. Having said that we are eager to contribute and implement other projects and support development of Albania through better use of resources, strengthen business network of national and international actors in the field of economic development.

Your key tasks:
- Support the Director of center/team leader in elaboration of project proposals, and reports.
- Represent the Balance Center to the international and national partners.
- Support the Director of center/team leader in the design of application, selection, and monitoring process.
- Support the Director of center/team leader in the coordination of administrative tasks.
- Execution of monitoring (activities like tracing, close monitoring of the training weekends and training evaluation, including daily evaluation, module evaluation. Prepare the monthly monitoring reports, and document the stories of the successful cases of Idea Challenge)
- Coordinate with team on logistical management like communication with catering and venue providers
- Coordination with experts about availability and logistical arrangement
- Supporting the Director of center/team leader to review and update the documents, promotion materials, practical guide
- Support the Director of center/ team leader to mobilize the community of practice
- Support the Director of center/ team leader to design and implement activities and measures to strengthen the network of experts.
- Support the Director of center/ team leader to attract private sector representatives as IDEA Connect initiative
- Promotion of Balance Center activities.
- University degree in Business, Economics, Statistics or comparable
- At least 5 years work experience on project implementation with focus on entrepreneurship and business development in an Albanian-speaking environment
- At least 5 years working on project proposals, reporting for international donors
- Experience in monitoring, data collection and analysis, tracing and reporting
- Fluent in English and Albanian. The required language skills are an exclusion criterion.
