Accounting & Tax Manager
Our client is an international group with ambitious business expansion plans in Albania. They are currently looking for the ideal candidate to fulfill the Accounting and Tax manager role.
Main responsibilities:
- Responsible for the proper and timely maintenance of the books, under local GAAP, IFRS / group accounting policies
- In conjunction with the Finance Controller Albania and ultimately the regional CFO establish an internal “monthly reporting package” that will ensure that the Company’s assets / liabilities, are properly recorded including: fixed assets movement schedules, ageing analyses, vendor Income P&L and Receivable schedules, timely reconciliations of suppliers / receivables / bank accounts, adequate provisions for: receivables litigation and pensions, expense accruals, tax reconciliations for differences between Local & IFRS
- Participate and / or lead in various projects which are of a strategic importance to the Group, assist in the “upgrading process” of the accounting function of Albania
- Responsible for local income taxes, and other types of taxes, in accordance with local Tax Law and for proper transfer pricing documentation
- Liaise and communicate to top level management on any potential tax risks
- Responsible for planning, managing and evaluating the performance of subordinate staff in the department
- Prepare required annual performance appraisals and recommends appropriate employment action
- Coordinate with other departments in areas which affect accounting functions such as: IT, Indirect Procurement, Product Management, etc
- Be a proactive finance business partner.
- University Degree in Accounting or Finance; Master Degree in Accounting or Finance or MBA is considered an asset
- At least 3 years in an accounting department of an international company; additional experience in accountancy firm is an asset
- Excellent knowledge of English
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office with emphasis on EXCEL
- In depth knowledge of IFRS and Albanian GAAP
- SAP knowledge will be considered an asset
- Analytic and synthetic thinking, open minded, honest and with integrity
- Team management skills
