Summary: We are looking for a Linux Admin & Support Engineer who is the motivated and tech-savvy person to join an ISO 27001 certified cloud operation for our client, a leading UK-based Enterprise company specialized in Service Management SaaS vendor, with an award-winning technology offering, and portfolio of enterprise clients across public and private sectors and strategic partnerships, all driving significant growth, opening a new site in Tirana, Albania, as part of its strategic growth.
As a Linux Admin & Support Engineer, you will have the opportunity to develop new skills and attain real live experience in cloud systems development, live global operations, as well as software quality, integration, and validation all under the guidance (where required) and support of seasoned and experienced professionals.
The Linux Admin & Support Engineer position will be under the supervision of the Cloud Team Department of UK Team and will be located at the Tirana office, remotely, or hybrid. The Cloud Team department works in 2 main areas: (a) Cloud system development; and (b) Software quality, integration, and validation. The position will report directly to the Head of the Cloud Engineers Team.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Writing scripts to deploy software on our cloud servers
• Contributing towards the creation and deployment of proactive monitoring tools.
• Ability to engage with, and provide support to customers (both internal and external) in relation to cloud/infrastructure issues (we have a separate customer support team for general support)
• Investigating and replicating customer issues, in relation to cloud, connectivity and infrastructure issues
• Verifying software, hot-fixes and patches especially, prior to its deployment into production
Education:
• Undergraduate degree in an area related to the position, or a related professional certificate are desirable.
Work Experiences and required skills:
Necessary:
• Familiarity with Linux and Windows Operating Systems (1+ year of experience would be advantageous)
• Familiarity administering and configuring Linux and general TCP/IP networking architecture (1+ year of experience would be advantageous)
• Knowledge of one of more scripting languages (Bash, PowerShell or Python.)
• Ability to create and execute test plans
• Quality and Customer focused individual
• Good communication skills
• Good problem-solving skills

• Able to pick up and run with new ideas quickly
• Good team player
• Self -motivated and working independently where requires, as well as being a good team player.

Desirable/ Advantageous:
• Ability to troubleshoot server and network problems
• Knowledge of SQL, MySQL/MariaDB, Apache/NginX
• Exposure to virtualization technologies such as KVM or Xen
• General Networking Knowledge & Troubleshooting Skills
• Software Programming Skills/Experience
Language skills:
• Very good command of the English language (written and spoken).
• Knowledge of any other language would be an asset.

Remuneration package:
• Initial monthly gross remuneration is between €1,200 and € 2,200, depending on experience. Salaries will be reviewed every July, depending on performance and results.

Assessment
