Job specification
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and dedicated professional to contribute to the development of palliative care in Albania
and to make a difference in the life of those who are suffering of cancer or other incurable illnesses in advanced stages.
The purpose of the role is to ensure that Ryder Albania Association significantly grows and develops its income streams,
which will mean that the charity has the financial resources to deliver on its mission on providing professional palliative care services, free of charge - to as many people in need as possible.
The Fundraising, Communication and Events Manager will be based in Tirana, in the office of Ryder Albania Association where they will be responsible for building good relationships
with prospective donors and partners across multiple sectors, communicating with the broader public and internal teams, and drawing up plans and efficient fundraising strategies to ensure annual targets are met.
The position will suit someone proactive and organized who has excellent communication and networking skills.

Background:
Hospices of Hope is an international palliative care development charity that has been working in Albania with Ryder Albania Association since 2018 to develop palliative care services for terminally ill adults and children suffering from life-limiting conditions.
Hospices of Hope has its headquarters in the UK, but also has a sister charity in the USA and a network of hospice partners in Romania, Moldova, Serbia, Albania, Greece, and Ukraine.
Ryder Albania Association is a registered Albanian charity and the first provider of palliative care services in the country with multidisciplinary teams in Tirana and Durres.
For 29 years Ryder Albania has been providing valuable medical, social, and psycho emotional services to those affected by terminal cancer or other incurable illnesses and their families.
The services provided are free of charge for the beneficiaries. Yearly, over 700 patients and their family members are benefiting of the services provided within the organization.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement an efficient fundraising strategy together with the team
  • Manage and develop a database of prospective and current donors to increase the income
  • Manage and develop a series of annual events: from coming up with an idea to planning and execution
  • Develop individual relationships with major donors and community fundraisers
  • Write funding proposals
  • Prepare the financial and narrative reports of the department
  • Communicate with the mass media to promote the organization and events
  • Manage and develop the organization’s social media, newsletters, promotional videos and website
  • Work to develop and deliver marketing and promotional materials in Albanian and English
  • Raise awareness and promote the work of the organization in Albania and beyond
  • Engage volunteers in the activity of the organization
  • Maintain accurate records
  • Attend meetings as necessary and provide reports as requested
  • Contribute to the production of an annual report
  • Other duties as required by the line manage
Minimum requirements and qualifications
  • Previous Fundraising management experience or relevant experience in management, marketing, PR or sales (5-7 years)
  • Sound knowledge of the charity sector in Albania
  • Excellent written, verbal, and telephonic communication skills in English and Albanian
  • Efficient networking skills
  • University degree, minimum BA level
  • Previous work experience in charities; previous experience with local and international donors
  • Driving license
Competitive Salary package (dependent on qualifications and experience)
