Horizon sh.p.k is looking for a System Administrator (Servers & Storage)to fill the following vacant position:

The Systems Administrator role is to ensure the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the in-house information systems that support core organizational functions.

• Work with the team to design and implement the infrastructure for new systems, particularly the UNIX system (Solaris, Linux, Ubuntu) Citrix Xen Server, and supporting UNIX based other network management systems.

• Perform installation, maintenance and support of system software, hardware, and infrastructure.

• Monitor system performance and availability.

• Design, implement and enhance systems management tools and procedures.

• Develop and keep accurate documentation of processes, standards and baselines across multiple environments, generating status updates of assigned projects and problems.

• Ensure adherence to all Operations policy, processes and procedures, particularly security standards.

• Responsible for analysis of systems to ensure operating within specification

• Assists customers in diagnosing problems and on systems installation, maintenance and upgrading.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education
BS Degree in Computer Science, Information Science, Engineering, or other relevant degree.

Experience

• At least 3 or more years related experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience with substantial exposure to both in-house and shared or out-sourced systems, multiple hardware platforms, and integrated information and communications systems.

• Professional training in various technologies and tools; RedHat and Microsoft certification preferred.

• Demonstrated experience with a strong knowledge of Linux-related hardware/software.

• Good working knowledge in Unix/Solaris is preferred.

• General experience with network connectivity.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES

Comprehensive knowledge of:

• Data processing methods and procedures, and IT infrastructure systems.

• Equipment and software characteristics of various computer systems and a deep understanding of system features and their integration capabilities.

Proven skills in:

• Written and verbal communication.
