Systems Engineer
The Systems Engineer isresponsible for delivering, maintaining, and optimizing infrastructure,database, and middleware capabilities to support and enable the development andoperations of modules and solutions;
This role is responsible forreviewing solution designs, understanding their impact on infrastructure, andensuring the availability of supporting and enabling infrastructure frominternal or external service providers;
This role is responsible formonitoring, maintaining, and supporting the operational capacity, availability,and performance of the solutions against SLAs from a level two and level threesupport perspective;
This role is responsible forproviding infrastructure-related level two and level three incident and problemmanagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with service providers to forecast and right-size long-term capacity and performance requirements, iterating regularly;
  • Determine user and technical story impact on existing architecture, work processes and systems;
  • Design and implement supporting infrastructure and tooling for software module development and operations;
  • Design and implement supporting database and middleware capabilities to support software module development and operations;
  • Monitor and maintain infrastructure performance, capacity and availability, providing 2nd and 3rd level of support for the resolution of infrastructure-related incidents and problems;
  • Monitor and review infrastructure-related incidents and problems to identify improvements.

Functional & Technical /skills:

  • Systems analysis and infrastructure design in web-scale environments;
  • Infrastructure automation and configuration management tools, e.g. Puppet, Chef, Ansible, Salt;
  • Public and private cloud IaaS and PaaS deployment models and technologies, e.g. Openstack, AWS, Azure;
  • Micro-service architecture and Containers technology (Docker, Mesos,etc.);
  • Infrastructure and Network test design, execution, and validation;
  • Virtualization and infrastructure technologies, e.g. Windows, LinUX/UI, VMWare, Xen, KVM, Docker;
  • Infrastructure and Network capacity, performance, and availability management;
  • Infrastructure and IT management frameworks, such as ITIL and COBIT;
  • Infrastructure event monitoring, incident, and problem management;
  • Continuous integration and continuous delivery methodologies and tools;
  • Database technologies - RDBMS, e.g. MySQL, PostGreSQL, Oracle and NoSQL e.g. Cassandra, Spark, Redis, Mongo,etc;
  • At least two or more programming and scripting languages, e.g. Ruby, Python, PHP

Credentials &Experience:


  • Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree or technical institute certificate in Computer Science, Information Systems or other related field;
  • Three to five years of work experience in designing, developing, deploying and / or administering infrastructure solutions;
  • Experience of current and emerging virtualization, infrastructure, and cloud and containers technologies and architectures, such as Windows, LinUX/UI, AWS, Azure, Openstack, Docker etc.;
  • Experience of configuration management and automation tools such as Puppet, Chef, Ansible, Salt etc.;
  • Experience working with programming and scripting languages, such as Ruby and Python;
  • Experience working closely with agile methodologies, such as Scrum, XP, and with teams leveraging DevOps and Continuous Delivery / Integration;
  • Strong understanding of IT management best practice frameworks, such as ITIL and COBIT;
  • Professional experience and knowledge of the Telecommunications industry preferred;
  • Excellent knowledge of English and Albanian (speaking and witing)
