Terms of Reference
A. MAJOR FUNCTIONS
WWF MedPO - Local Communications Officer will support implementation of the Connecting Albanian people through shared natural patrimony to the Western Balkans project (DAP Albania) as Project Communications Officer (50% of working hours).
Local communications officer will take active participation in the work of DAP team, and contribute to the development and implementation of overall WWF conservation and communication strategy in the Albania.
B. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Supports communications component of Dinaric Arc Parks - Albania project
• Media analysis in Albania
• Stakeholder analysis
• Monitors media coverage, gathering and analysis of media articles
• Translates and adapts PRs issued by WWF Communication Officer
• Helps development and implementation of media campaigns
• Helps in the organization and implementation of communication workshops/trainings
• Participates to the development of social media work
• Providing information for the www.discoverdinarides.com web site
• Making contact and maintaining good collaboration with Albanian media
• Promotion of Albanian PA’s in media through press conferences, TV shows etc.
• Collaboration with PA staff in Albania regarding education on communication tools (communication capacity building)
C. CONDITIONS
• Fluent English and Albanian speaker
• Knowledge of one additional regional language as advantage (Croatian, Slovenian, Macedonian…)
• Advanced user in Microsoft office (Power Point, Word and Excel)
• University degree of Communications Sciences, Human and Social Sciences, or equivalent
• Good connections with media
• At least five years of working experience in communications
• Experience in social media and web pages maintenance is advantage
• Knowledge about conservation issues is advantage
