The Web Developer in this role develops and maintains the installation, configuration, and support of the organization’s websites through best practices and industry standards. Develop, maintain and implement new features to websites including marketing programs and eCommerce initiatives. Capture functional requirements, facilitate and participate in testing sessions, and coordinate final implementation. This individual will apply analytical and problem-solving skills to help validate, verify, communicate, and resolve systems/software application issues through careful testing in order to maximize the benefit of IT investments and initiatives to improve profitability.

Job Description
The Web Developer in this role develops and maintains the installation, configuration, and support of the organization’s websites through best practices and industry standards. Develop, maintain and implement new features to websites including marketing programs and eCommerce initiatives. Capture functional requirements, facilitate and participate in testing sessions, and coordinate final implementation. This individual will apply analytical and problem-solving skills to help validate, verify, communicate, and resolve systems/software application issues through careful testing in order to maximize the benefit of IT investments and initiatives to improve profitability.
Essential functions:
- Develop, test, implement and support websites to improve customer experience and company presence with internal and external development teams.
- Implement best practices for the installation and maintenance of a specified content management system to improve customer searches and product information.
- Modify existing websites to take into account changes in system requirements, business requirements, equipment configurations, security and performance.
- Provide input on the best practices for web technical architecture or builds.
- Identify and evaluate alternative solutions to defined problems and recommend the most appropriate course of action to achieve best results.
- Conduct detailed analysis of defined systems specifications and develop associated design documentation.
- Provide solutions to provide superior customer experience and delivering innovative quality eCommerce services to our customers.
- Build and maintain close relationships with channel and product marketing, customer care, and other internal functional areas to ensure that web and eCommerce business priorities are met.
Experience Required:
- Excellent knowledge of HTML, CSS, Javascript (and libraries like jQuery and Prototype).
- In-depth knowledge of PHP, MySql, AJAX, XML.
- Basic knowledge of Cross Browser Compatibility, UI Interaction, SEO, Marketing.
- Experience with open sources: Magento, Wordpress, Drupal, Joomla!.
- Data-driven, decision maker who has successfully completed 3 or 4 large web development projects.
- 2-3 years supporting and developing websites or eCommerce applications.
- Disciplined development approach and follow the standard steps within the Systems Development Lifecycle (design, program, test, maintain).
- Proficient in creating functional requirements documentation, uses cases, and process flow diagrams.
- Experience in gathering and analyzing business requirements.
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communications skills.
- Self-starter and team player with high initiative, positive attitude, and strong focus on results.
- Previous experience designing large-scale web/eCommerce applications. Responsive design/development for mobile devices is a plus.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, informatics or web development.
- Master’s degree is preferable.
