The fundamental role of an SEO & Analytics Specialist is to increase the number of people who visit a website or a number of websites.
The SEO & Analytics Specialist’s job includes analyzing, reviewing, and implementing changes to websites, analyzing and identifying gaps in website content, optimizing pages for improved search results, building links, and supervising content creation. The SEO & Analytics Specialist should be able to identify marketing opportunities and come up with strategies to increase website traffic. The SEO & Analytics Specialist will be responsible for technical SEO, on-page, and off-page SEO.
The SEO & Analytics Specialist will monitor site-wide daily performance metrics and use SEO tools and techniques (technical, on-site, and off-site) to optimize site traffic, improve user experience, and increase conversions; conduct keyword research, search behavior analyses, technical audits, and content gap analyses; utilize website analytics to create reports, audits and dashboards to identify areas for optimization, carry out competitive research and deploy the latest developments in SEO; use knowledge of technical website elements involved with indexing.
Responsibilities and Duties
Analyze website and social media pages, make recommendations for improvement, and optimize website and landing page copy for SEO.
Fix all technical issues on websites (page linking, canonicalization, meta titles, meta descriptions, meta tags, descriptive text, alt tags, text/HTML ratio, HTML size, text amount per page, 404 pages, CSS styling code, etc.)
Optimize every blog article for search engines (use the in-built SEO tool on Wix or WordPress).
Conduct keyword research using dedicated software, and generate new keyword ideas.
Perform competitor analysis to identify content gaps and areas for improvement in website design.
Generate content ideas and topics for blog articles and delegate these to the team.
Oversee content creation and offer suggestions.
Report on performance metrics comparing them to our SEO goals and benchmarking data
Update older content and add effective calls to action (CTAs) to improve user engagement
Optimize pages for desktop, tablet, and mobile use.
Develop and implement link-building strategies (at least 4-5 per month)
Create PPC strategy and manage paid search campaigns.
Monitor, track, and report on performance metrics comparing them to SEO goals and benchmarking data
(website traffic, conversion rates, time spent on page, bounce rate, CPA, CPC, search trends, SEO performance), and develop growth strategies accordingly.
Use Excel spreadsheets to compile reports.
Keep up to date with new trends, tools, and best SEO practices.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Excellent verbal and written English language skills.
Hands-on experience with web development tools, like WordPress and Wix.
HTML, CSS, and JavaScript experience.
In-depth experience with website analytics tools (e.g, Google Analytics, NetInsight, Omniture, WebTrends) and other tools (Search Console, TagManager, AdWords, Screaming Frog, SEMRush, Moz, Authority Labs, etc.)
Experience with bid management tools (e.g., Click Equations, Marin, Kenshoo, Search Ignite)
Experience with A/B and multivariate experiments
Knowledge of ranking factors and search engine algorithms • Solid understanding of performance marketing, conversion, and online customer acquisition
Analytical skills and the ability to work with large data sets
Research skills and attention to detail when pulling data from multiple platforms.
Organization, time management, and the ability to prioritize tasks
Ability to follow specifications and work under pressure.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in IT, Marketing Analytics, or related quantitative, test-driven field.
Proven work experience as an SEO Specialist or similar role.
Three to five years of related experience working with web content and digital business data.
