Summary:
A Senior Compensation and Benefits Specialist typically manages and oversees all aspects of a company's payroll, bonus schemes, and develops and implements benefits packages for the employees.
Main Responsibilities:
- Manages and correctly implements the company’s payroll by designing systems; by writing and updating policies and procedures directing the collection, calculation, and entering data in compliance with the legal framework.
- Prepares reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and non-taxable wages.
- Implements and administers a competitive employee benefits program. Effectively communicate the value of the extensive benefits to employees as a part of their total compensation.
- Achieves financial objectives by anticipating requirements; submitting information for budget preparation; scheduling expenditures; monitoring costs; analyzing variances.
- Controls the cost of Labor and assume full responsibility for the execution of the relevant budget lines.
- Develops and monitors the necessary HR Metrics to measure the progress of the HR activities under his/her responsibility.
- Calculating the correct amount incorporating overtime, deductions, bonuses etc.
- Ensure that compensation practices are in compliance with current legislation (pay equity, human rights, etc.).
- Participate in salary and labor market surveys to determine prevailing pay rates and benefits.
Requirements and Skills:
- University degree, preferably business/economics, accounting and Finance, HR management or other related fields.
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience working as Payroll Specialist. Preferably in Retail industry.
- Good analytical skills and, experience with quantitative data collection
- Strong communication skills verbal and nonverbal.
- Strong analytical skills with quantitative data collection and detailed-oriented.
- Practical experience in the field of compensations and benefits advantageous.
- Knowledge about different options of compensation and ways to motivate people.
- Meticulous, self-motivated with a strong desire to succeed.
- Positive attitude, open minded and ready to embrace change.
- Very good English skills (verbal and written).
