[FONT=&quot]Purchasing Specialist [/FONT]​

[FONT=&quot]Position responsibilities:[/FONT]

[FONT=&quot]Coordinates activities involved with procuring goods and services, such as raw materials, equipment, tools, parts, supplies, and advertising, for establishment:[/FONT]
·[FONT=&quot]Confers with vendors to obtain product or service information, such as price, availability, and delivery schedule. Selects products for purchase by testing, observing, or examining items. [/FONT]
·[FONT=&quot]Estimates values according to knowledge of market price. [/FONT]
·[FONT=&quot]Determines method of procurement, such as direct purchase or bid. [/FONT]
·[FONT=&quot]Prepares purchase orders or bid requests. [/FONT]
·[FONT=&quot]Reviews bid proposals and negotiates contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority. [/FONT]
·[FONT=&quot]Maintains manual or computerized procurement records, such as items or services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality or performance, and inventories. [/FONT]
·[FONT=&quot]Discusses defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, users, vendors, and others to determine source of trouble and take corrective action. [/FONT]
·[FONT=&quot]May approve invoices for payment. May expedite delivery of goods to users.[/FONT]

[FONT=&quot]The successful candidate will have:[/FONT]​

[FONT=&quot]Qualifications:[/FONT]

[FONT=&quot]Education: [/FONT]

• [FONT=&quot]Preferred BS/BA in Business or related field.[/FONT]

• [FONT=&quot]Understanding (spoken and written) English and/or Greek considered an asset.[/FONT]

• [FONT=&quot]Computer (PC) literacy mandatory (EXCEL/WORD). [/FONT]

• [FONT=&quot]Must be able to communicate with hospital department managers and outside vendors, obtain pricing, quotes and other product information for departments.[/FONT]

[FONT=&quot]Experience: [/FONT]

• [FONT=&quot]3-5 years purchasing experience with progressive responsibility. [/FONT]
• [FONT=&quot]Experience with medical/surgical supplies and equipment is desirable.[/FONT]
