Local Web is seeking a Systems Administrator and DBA to join our team and be responsible for the development and maintenance of our IT infrastructure and databases. The ideal candidate should have at least 3 years of experience and possess a degree in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience.


Responsibilities:

  • Managing and improving the performance of our databases (relational and non-relational) including PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, and Redis
  • Implementing and testing backup and disaster recovery strategies
  • Deploying database components for applications, services, and microservices
  • Basic network and firewall knowledge
  • Troubleshooting and documenting solutions
  • Working collaboratively with cross-functional teams
Requirements:

  • Computer Science Degree OR equivalent industry experience
  • Knowledge of Linux-based OS
  • Experience in at least one relational and one non-relational DB
  • Basic knowledge of networks and firewalls
  • Good command of English
  • Experience working in a team
  • Aptitude for troubleshooting and documenting solutions
  • Knowledge of ElasticSearch or Cassandra is a plus
  • Experience working with virtualised solutions such as VMWare, Proxmox
