JOB ANNOUNCEMENT

SOS Children’s Village Albania is a private nongovernmental and non-profit organization, which makes every attempt to offer a permanent home to the children who have lost their parents or for several reasons have no possibility to live with them. The SOS Children’s Village also strongly support the children at risk of losing their families, and the families in need through implementation of different projects aiming at the further development of their capacities.
For the second phase of implementation of the Project Youth Empowerment Enabling Prospects (YEEP 2), the SOS Children’s Villages Albania is looking for experienced and quality professional to join the project team in the position of Start – up Grant Advisor
Mission of the position:
The Start-up Grant Advisor is a member of the national project team responsible for creating opportunities for successful and sustainable integration of the project participants in the labor market. He/she is successfully supporting the project participants who take the path to self-employment.
Requirements for the position:
  • University Degree on Economic, Business Administration; Management or relevant fields;
  • Work experience in implementation of Self Employment component (Start Ups), for at least two years;
  • A good understanding of business functions
  • organisational skills with the ability to collect and disseminate information
  • Excellent analytical and strategic abilities.
  • Proficient in problem identification and business process analysis.
  • Strong market research skills
  • Knowledge of children's and human rights.
  • Knowledge on using online communication platforms;
  • Very good oral and written communication skills both local language and English

  • Valid driving license B category;
General expectations from a successful candidate

  • To be a confidential person and to adhere to the policies and code of conduct of the SOS Children’s Village Albania organization.
  • To have sensitivity to work with a vulnerable category of young people
  • Have an understanding and / or experience in recognizing risks and challenges with vulnerable categories in adolescence
  • To have motivation and empathy for working with vulnerable categories
Main responsibilities:
  • Actively collaborates with institutions, employers and the non-governmental sector as needed;
  • Participates in activities in the community (outreach) in order to identify potential users or to disseminate the possibilities of the project
  • Explores corporate sector trends
  • Proactively explores available government, national and international agencies measure and intensives (for youth and for companies) for combating unemployment of young people (small grants measures).
  • Develop criteria for initial assessment of youth interested to take self-employment path
  • Participates at the training of master trainers in entrepreneurship organized in the scope of the project
  • Leads the national contextualization of the entrepreneurship curriculum
  • Provides training to young project participants based on the entrepreneurship curriculum
  • Supports during registration of the start-up and signing contract for small grant among SOS CV and the young grant recipient
  • Provides ongoing coaching and monitors the start-up during its operation throughout project duration.
  • Supports the young person and if needed refers him/her to the soft skills training or vocational training to ensure the start-up has higher chances to stay stable and to be sustainable
  • Sensitizes employers on the specific of the target group and helps them in creating strategies for retention of vulnerable young people on the workplace
  • Participates in creating monthly, quarterly and annual activity plans;
  • Submit monthly progress reports to the project manager;
  • Collaborate with the project team and participate in activities related to the smooth functioning of the project at the request of the project manager;
  • Participates in strategic planning and internal evaluation as per need;
  • Gives proposals and takes initiatives to improve the work of the team
  • Documents implementation of activities to contribute to successful monitoring of indicators and evaluation of project outcomes.
In the framework of child protection policy:

  • Has the responsibility to protect children from all forms of abuse, abandonment, manipulation, violence and discrimination;
  • Has the responsibility to report any suspicions, concerns, allegations or incidents regarding the safety of children immediately;
  • Has the responsibility to act without delay; delay in action can lead the child to further risks;
  • Includes the right people at the right time; reporting should be made to the child protection group at program level and / or to the line manager;
  • Ensures confidentiality and sharing of information as needed;


  • Has the responsibility to respect the Regulation on “Prevention and Protection against Sexual Harassment, Exploitation and Abuse” as well as Code of Conduct.
  • He / she is expected to promote and support a culture of respect, dignity, trust and accountability that deters violations.
Terms

  • Full-time, 5 days a week: Mon-Fri;
  • Employment contract in accordance with the Labour Legislation of the Republic of Albania;
  • Professional development for the entire duration of the project;
