BOUGAINVILLE BAY Resort & SPA is looking for a:

Sushi Chef

Responsibilities:
  • Prepares raw fish in an appropriate manner;
  • Slices ingredients into perfect strips;
  • Makes sushi rice with perfect form and consistency;
  • Monitor food stock and place orders, as needed;
  • Handles restocking of ingredients;
  • Ensures adherence to highest quality food preparation and hygiene standards;
  • Ensures proper cooking, considering special requests and food allergies;
  • Maintain hygiene principles in all cooking areas and clean the space at the end of the shift;
Requirements (Key Skills)
  • Work experience as a Sushi Chef or at an Asian restaurant;
  • Bachelor’s degree in Culinary or certification from a culinary school;
  • Good knowledge of various sushi types and sushi-rolling techniques;
  • In-depth knowledge of food safety requirements for restaurants;
  • Good knowledge of HACCP standards of hygiene in the kitchen;
  • Excellent communication and time-management skills;
  • Able to stand for extended hours;
