Job position: Senior Compliance Officer
Contract Terms: Indefinitive
Location: Doha (Qatar)

Summary: We are looking for an experienced and professional Senior Compliance Officer to join an International Company based in Doha (Qatar) with a heritage that dates back to 1945. This role oversees the Compliance Program, functioning as an independent and objective unit within the Legal Department that reviews and evaluates compliance issues/concerns within the organization.
The position ensures the Board of Directors, management and employees are in compliance with the rules and regulations of regulatory agencies, and that behavior in the organization meets the company’s Code of Conduct. This role reports to the Head of Compliance by monitoring and reporting results of the compliance of the company and in providing guidance for the Board and senior management team on matters relating to compliance. The Senior Compliance Officer is tasked to advise on the implementation of all necessary actions to ensure the achievement of the objectives of the Compliance Program.

Duties and Responsibility:

  • Implementation and management of processes related to general operation of the Compliance
  • Program and its related activities to prevent illegal or improper conduct. Manages day-to-day operation of the Compliance Program.
  • Collaborates with other departments (e.g., Internal Audit, GHRD, etc.) to direct compliance issues to appropriate existing channels for investigation and resolution. Consults supervising Legal Counsel as needed to resolve difficult legal compliance issues.
  • Responds to alleged violations of rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and codes of Conduct by evaluating or recommending the initiation of investigative procedures.
  • Acts as an independent review and evaluation unit to ensure that compliance Issues/concerns within the organization are being appropriately evaluated, investigated, and resolved.
  • Monitors, and as necessary, coordinates compliance activities of other departments to remain abreast of the status of all compliance activities and to identify trends.
  • Responsible to develop/implementing corrective action plans for the resolution of problematic issues, and providing general guidance on how to avoid or deal with similar situations in the future.
  • Provides reports on a regular basis, and as directed or requested, to keep the senior management informed of the operation and progress of compliance efforts.
  • Monitors the performance of the Compliance Program and relates activities on a continuing basis, taking appropriate steps to improve its effectiveness.
  • Establishes and provides the direction of the Compliance Hotline. Institutes and maintains an effective compliance communication program for the organization, including promoting (a) use of the Compliance Hotline; (b) heightened awareness of the Code of Conduct, and (c) understanding of new and existing compliance issues and related policies and procedures.

Education:

  • Master’s degree from an accredited university in Business Management/ Business Administration or MCL is a must.
  • A Professional Certified by a reputed awarding body in corporate and regulatory compliance is a must

Work Experiences and required skills:


  • Minimum 12 years of experience out of which 5 years in a role in a similar organization

Language skills:


  • Fluent in English (written and oral). French is an advantage

  • Attention to detail and thoroughness.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the different industries and the business imperatives in operation.
  • Shows an interest in industry bodies and a willingness to contribute and share knowledge.
  • Good drafting skills and the ability to interpret business processes into legally sound documents.
  • Be a strong negotiator and able to interact confidently with senior management.
  • Focused individual who is able to execute effectively, plan own outputs and meet specified deadlines.
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively, professionally, diplomatic, cordial, and collaborate sensitively with others.
  • Ability to influence and build good relationships at all levels in order to effectively carry out responsibilities.
  • Ability to work independently but also be a team player.
  • Be able to conduct meetings and presentations skillfully.
  • Ability to draft high-quality communication material.

Perks & Benefits:

  • Salary: For Single Status: 5500-6300$ and for Family Status: 6000-6800$
  • The Company is providing allowances apart from the Basic Salary such as Housing and Transportation for the employees. If the employees are married, the company is providing a family status in which the company can provide yearly tickets and private medical insurance coverage for their immediate family.
  • The company is also providing temporary accommodation for 15-30 days to new joiners upon arrival while they are looking for their place to stay. This will be debited from their housing allowances on a prorated basis until they are able to find their own apartments.
