Head of Legal
Scope of Work: To provide legal advice and support to the Company’s activities on all legal matters, ensuring compliance with local laws and Vodafone Group legal policies. Monitoring and influencing legal developments to the benefit of the commercial interests of Vodafone and informing and assisting the business in the assessment and management of upcoming and existing legislation. Leading all legal cases of the company and managing legal risks. Maximise the benefits of being part of Vodafone global legal community. The Head of Legal reports to Legal, Regulatory and Strategy Director.
Main Job Accountabilities
· Provide professional and high quality legal support and advice to the business in a timely and cost effective manner to manage risks and facilitate commercially astute decision making at every level.
· Develop compliance approach and promote risk awareness and visibility of the Legal Function, identify risks and opportunities and foster customers’ trust.
· Simplify and standardize any interaction with customers and legal processes and documents so we can make Vodafone quick, easy and safe to do business with at global and local level.
· Provide the relevant company structures with legal support and advice as to the proper interpretation of all relevant laws and regulations. Prepare legal opinions in relation, but not limited to the commercial, taxation, finance, property employment, internet, and corporate issues.
· Assist the Legal, Regulatory and Strategy Director in the development of the strategy for the legal function, set its objectives and responsible for its execution in alignment with Vodafone Group’s legal strategy and objectives.
· Prepare strategy in legal proceeding and represent the Company before the courts, as well as state institutions or other authorities
· Manage legal risks appropriately and opportunities areas, in order to protect the company.
· Draft and negotiate contracts required by the Company for its business.
· Co-operate with and supervise external attorneys in cases where external support is required.
Profile Requirements
· Education / Experience
- University degree in Law
- Post Graduate Studies in Law (preferably commercial law) will be considered an asset
- Thorough understanding and knowledge of Telecommunications Law, Competition Law, Consumer Law, Commercial Law, Advertising, Intellectual Property, contracts, Internet, e-commerce.
- Member of the Albanian Chamber of Attorneys
- At least 5 years of relevant working experience in legal profession
- Excellent command of Albanian and English language, both spoken and written
- Experience in project management.
