Hospital Pharmacy Manager

Position responsibilities:

  • The Pharmacy Manager maintains and coordinates systems to ensure that pharmacy operations run efficiently on a day-to-day basis. This position ensures appropriate pharmaceutical care is administered to patients of the hospital. The Pharmacy Manager supervises personnel involved in pharmacy operations and coordinates all facets of operations within the department. S/he is also responsible for ensuring that the pharmacy provides optimal services; meets all legal, accreditation, and certification requirements and complies with all applicable procedures, codes and standards of the organization. In addition, they must perform the duties of a staff pharmacist, as required
  • Direct the activities of staff to provide timely, efficient and appropriate care to all patients.
    [*]Provide ongoing evaluation and education/training opportunities to staff members to ensure professional development and the ability to provide quality care. Ensure patient/customer satisfaction by analyzing patient/customer complaints, concerns and provides appropriate follow through.

    Participate in hospital wide committees to establish patient/customer service and administrative plans and policies.

    Responsible for the safety of patients and staff by ensuring that staff follows established policies and standards.

    Develop operating budgets and maintain necessary control to assure compliance with the budgeted expenses, resources and staff projections
The successful candidate will have:

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelors degree in pharmacy
  • Knowledge of budgets and inventory controls. Additional knowledge in current pharmaceutical technology including distribution, protocol design, monitoring and intervention.
  • Pharmacy administrative experience preferred
Experience:
  • 3 - 5 years of relevant experience is required
