SOS Children’s Villages Albania is a private, nongovernmental and nonprofit organization, which makes every attempt to offer a permanent home to the children who have lost their parents or for several reasons have no possibility to live with them. The SOS Children’s Village also strongly support the children at risk of losing their families, and the families in need through implementation of different projects aiming at the further development of their capacities.

The SOS Children’s Village in partnership with Tirana Legal Aid Society is going to implement a new project financed by EU.
The project has 2 specific objectives:
Specific objective 1: by the end of 2020 local CSOs raise the public awareness to increase the community collaboration and involvement as foster families in Durres, Tirana, Korca regions.
Specific objective 2: by the end of 2020 practice improvement of foster care development by increase the competences of social staff and key stakeholders for professional response and involvement in Durres, Tirana and Korca regions

SOS Children’s Villages Albania is looking for a suitable person for the position of Project Officer (Part Time position)
The Project Officer (PO) will be responsible for professional support for the organization, coordination and ensure the implementation of project activities especially under the specific objective 2 (quality issues, institutional support, foster care advises etc.) PO will be responsible for ensuring concrete actions and organizing human resources related to strengthening the capacity of CSOs, key stakeholders, social staff, foster care register, build the capacities of judges, empowered and involved young people without parental care in advocacy for their rights. S/he will oversight the development of training programs and materials, on-going technical assistance, and will ensure that results work plan is implemented according to the project log frame. S/he will dedicate 50% of her/his time for the implementation of the action. PO’s will report to the Project Manager;

Main responsibilities:

  • Is responsible for organizing, implementing, monitoring and reporting for the project activities.
  • Ensure high quality implementation of the project activities and events, with due respect to donor requirements and SOS CV Albania regulations and standard;

  • Maintain written track record of all -related activities and documentation on file;

  • Cooperate and communicate on a regular basis with the project manager, project financer for the activities and project’s progress;
  • Review on regular basis details, deliverables and schedules of activities, ensure activity reports are produced on time, in quality manner as per donor requirements;

  • Ensure communication, dissemination and visibility of achievements of activities;

Requirements:

  • University degree in social sciences as social worker or psychologist
(Master degree in relevant field would be an advantage);

  • At least 3-5 years of working experience in social issues, experience preferably on projects or programs of CSOs, EU projects would be an advantage
  • Experience in child rights issues and alternative care would be an advantage;
  • Practice in community development, networking and stakeholder cooperation.
  • Good knowledge in written and spoken English language;
  • Driving licence, active driver.

  • Strong communication, presentation, facilitation and interpersonal skills;
  • Efficient task prioritization and time management;
  • Flexibility to work both in team and independently;
  • Work under time pressure;
