Cable project and implementation Team Manager

Purpose of Position:
Managing the cable network (with FO and copper) projecting and implementation of Albtelecom. Coordination and supervision of Contractors/subcontractors regarding the implementation of the projects, respecting of the technical specification and standards as per Albtelecom’s approved ones, respecting of the conditions decided by the Authorities which provide the works permit, guaranty the highest quality of works, respecting the budget figures and terms of implementation

Duties

  • Preparation/update of the technical specifications and standards for the cable networks in accordance with the approved ones by AKEP and other related government institutes and also in line with international recommends for telecommunication networks;
  • Preparation of technical part of the contracts provided by Legal and/or Procurement Departments for the construction/extension of the local and backbone FO and copper cables networks;
  • Preparation of the necessary documents for applying to the respective authority (municipality/ARrSH0 for the works permit;
  • Coordination, control jobs and duties and evaluate the performance of each team member;
  • Coordination and control all projects designed and respective cost estimation by each team member and prepare PAF in accordance with contract unit price and project approval;
  • Coordination of the control & supervision process during the implementation for all ongoing projects, follow and report the progress of all ongoing works, take all needed action to sure the respecting of technical specification and standards in the field as per approved ones;
  • Organize and follow until the end all acceptances procedures including preliminary and final ones, following the possible remarks during the warranty period, as per contractual conditions;
  • Coordination of the preparation of periodic progress reports according to the daily reports provided by control engineers in the field and confirm to the contractor respective works volumes in order to let them prepare respective invoice, which will be confirmed to the respective departments, in order the payment to be done according to the contractual conditions;
  • Contribute for solving problems occurred during implementation, especially the problems which might be raised by the authorities who provided the works permit.

Skills
  • Logical thinking with creative problem-solving ability
  • Knowledge of Office Package, AUTOCAD, MAPINFO, GIS and other related engineering programs.
  • Knowledge of telecommunication networks with copper and FO cables.
  • Knowledge of civil works
  • Knowledge of the laws, especially the ones connected with construction of telecommunication networks and law for construction in general.
  • Very good communication with other teams inside the company and also with Contractors and authorities which provide the works permits.
  • Fast adaption to position to work, energetic, flexible and with full wish to learn and progress
  • Very good knowledge of English
  • Great attention to detail

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years in similar field, 3 of them in telecommunication sector.
Education
  • Master degree in Civil Engineer / Electronic Engineer / Telecommunication or related fields
