Job Description:
The purpose of this function is to research, assess and acquire any type of information for the creation and maintenance of the POI TomTom database of Albania and to execute sourcing & quality processes in particular on Point of Interest (POI). Selected candidate in addition shall perform production processes also on Italian POI database. This search can be done from an office or on the field, by different means.

Primary Duties:
  • Perform office data collection tasks which require highly specialized knowledge on certain features or full knowledge about specs, processes & tools.
  • Analyse
  • Support the Production Unit on the release processes
  • Demonstrate appropriate follow-up procedures and ensure all contact notes and actions are filed completely and accurately in tracking system.
  • Perform data analysis, data validation, source merging, local updating and other local production activities required to create, update and maintain assigned content in cooperation with production department.
  • Analysis and quality check of different types of data and eventual definition of the best process to conflate it into the database applying internal provided tools and methods and adapt them to the local needs.
  • Identifying potential data providers and maintain a contact network of key information suppliers in the geographical region, being responsible for the overall process from data analysis to data integration.
  • To make a detailed planning of all tasks depending on defined priorities in order to deliver the needed information of the different projects in time and reporting the results accordingly.
  • Perform quality checks and liaise with other parts of the organisation and with the Production Unit to guarantee the high quality standards of the database.

Profile:

  • A university degree in surveying/geography/cartography or any related geo science
  • Knowledge of maps and geographic principles is required.
  • Advanced experience with GIS/GPS and commercial mapping software is a must in addition to Advanced knowledge of MS Office, in particular MS Access and Excel, SQL.
  • Driving license and being a confident driver is a must.
  • Must have ability to travel to various parts of Albania.
  • Motivation, willingness to learn and ability to communicate well in both English, Albanian and Italian.
  • Self-organised with strong planning skills to effectively self-manage all required activities.
  • Demonstrate ability to exchange geographic and technical information and gain understanding by using written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently within a team environment and actively support the efforts of others.
