CCBS is looking for a potential candidate to fill the vacancy for:
Directly managing Health & Safety culture, environmental impact, providing technical and administrative direction on decisions which bear critical importance to company objectives – zero harm and safe operations. Maintain high level of awareness, knowledge and preparedness, reinforcing culture that prioritizes effectiveness and results. Serve as a subject matter expert to direct activities, champion in regulatory compliance and oversee third party safety for the CCBS facility.
Roles & Responsibilities:
• carrying out risk assessments and considering how risks could be reduced;
• outlining safe operational procedures which identify and take account of all relevant hazards;
• carrying out regular site inspections to check policies and procedures are being properly implemented;
• making changes to working practices that are safe and comply with legislation;
• preparing health and safety strategies and developing internal policy;
• leading in-house training with managers and employees about health and safety issues and risks;
• keeping records of inspection findings and producing reports that suggest improvements;
• recording of incidents and accidents and producing statistics for managers;
• being up to date with new legislation and maintaining a working knowledge of all Health and Safety Executive (HSE) legislation and any developments that affect the employer's industry;
• producing management reports, newsletters and bulletins;
• ensuring the safe installation of equipment;
• managing and organising the safe disposal of hazardous substances
• advising on a range of specialist areas, e.g. fire regulations, hazardous substances, noise, safeguarding machinery and occupational diseases Builds and maintains relationships with those external entities that control the activity of the plant in relation to environmental protection work, accident prevention, safety of facilities and ecological protection.
Skills & Qualifications:
• Advanced knowledge of industry standards and practices, safety training and regulatory agency requirements helpful
• Min. 5+ years’ management experience HSE in the industry
• Bachelor’s degree (4 year) or higher Solid communication skills – Must have very good written and oral communications. Required to speak effectively before groups - clients, subcontractors and/or employees
• Reasoning Ability – Taking on responsibility and ability to resolve issues quickly with little or no direction.
• Ability to interpret variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram and/ or schedule format.
• Ability to make good judgments, render good decisions, remain calm under pressure.
• Computer Skills – Excellent computer skills required with Microsoft Office programs experience
• Very good knowledge of English and/or Italian
