The Water Supply and Sewerage Association of Albania (SHUKALB), which has been in existence since January 2000, is seeking to hire a full-time person to fill the position of Manager of Training and Professional Development. This position reports directly to the Executive Director of SHUKALB.

The responsibilities of the Manager of Training and Professional Development include the following:

  • Conduct periodic training needs assessments and training interest surveys to define the training needs of members.
  • Develop and routinely update the overall training and professional development program of SHUKALB.
  • Oversee the development of training courses to be offered by SHUKALB, and function as Lead training course developer under the USAID Grant launched on 1 October 2014.
  • Network with other partner associations, institutions and other associations to create a comprehensive, annual calendar of training opportunities for SHUKALB members.
  • Organize and oversee the conduct of all SHUKALB training courses.
  • Manage and oversee the development of all technical programs of SHUKALB to include the Annual Conference, Specialty Conferences and Workshops.
  • Annually propose manuals and other technical documents for the Association to secure for possible translation, with license agreements from other institutions and associations.
  • Manage the translation and customization of manuals and technical documents obtained through licensing agreements.
  • Provide input to SHUKALB's member knowledge exchange platforms.
  • Develop and maintain a list of qualified trainers for the delivery of all of SHUKALB’S planned training courses.
  • Support the establishment of Technical Specialty Groups and coordinate their activities.
  • Manage the content, publication, and sales of Technical Publications produced by SHUKALB.
  • Maintain the Association’s Technical and Reference Library
  • Maintain records of all individuals receiving training offered by SHUKALB.
  • Assume other related duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Executive Director.

This position will work in cooperation with the current Manager of Member Services.

Candidates for this position should have the following minimum qualifications and experience:

  • A university degree in human resources management or vocational training.
  • Minimum of six years of responsible, professional experience in related activities.
  • Native Albanian speaker with ability to communicate (oral and written) in English.
  • Individuals interested should submit a completed CV with employment and salary history, plus, where available, samples of written material in the area of human resource management or training that they have prepared both in Albanian and English.
