MIS Specialist

Main Duties:
  • Perform the process of close of business in core banking system on daily basis.
  • Monitor critical daily processes to ensure efficient operation of core banking system and all other applications, including system backups, server’s configuration, system recovery, system reporting and interfaces.
  • - Responsible for providing level II support on Help Desk/user/training support.
  • - Install and maintain all platforms and server environments to run all information systems and reporting tools.
  • - Troubleshoot systems bugs and interfaces. Indentify risks and opportunities for the implementation of any new functionalities and integrations with other systems.
  • Work with the technical support team to test, configure, develop and implement information system changes.
  • Apply software patches and updates. Assist with coordination, implementation, testing and documentation of enhancements and upgrades to system processes and applications.
  • Develop and configure system workflows with respective menus, user interfaces and access privileges to support business process changes.
  • Develop reports, information tracking and validation tools for end-users.
  • Contribute to the analysis and perform data migration activities during systems migration preparation, execution
and stabilization. Design, develop and test custom data migration tools.


Skills and Qualifications:

  • University degree in Computer Science or related fields.
  • Minimum 1 year experience in banking systems, implementation and maintenance of system features relevant to the environment.
  • Minimum 1 year experience in database management (MS SQL Server), backup and recovery, common software development languages, system administration and operating systems programming languages.
  • Good knowledge of database design, RDBMS, and Structured Query Language (SQL)
  • Familiar with support of web servers utilizing Microsoft IIS, Apache, Reporting Services, Jetty and FTP processes and utilities.
  • General understanding of the operating systems (eg. Windows Server 2008, Unix, Linux, Ubuntu) and associated hardware platforms.
  • Well-experienced with help desk related user support.
  • Well-organized individual able to work as part of a close-knit team.
  • Excellent personal communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Microsoft certification (MCSE) or any other certifications are preferable.
