Customs Relations Manager


Job dimension:
the manager’s role is to assure, administrate and manage all relations with Customs in order to achieve smooth and efficient process of imports
and exports of EFA’s raw materials and FG as well as implementing the process of reconciliation closing.
She/he is responsible for creating & maintaining relations with Customs,
following and implementing updates of regulatory related to Customs procedures and taking necessary steps to avoid errors in the process.

Candidate requirements:


  • Education: University graduate (laws, economy, engineering etc).
  • Languages: Proficiency in Albania & English.
  • IT: Very good knowledge of MS package.
  • Personal skills: Able to work/lead teams.
  • Work from distance and with public administration
  • Administrate and coordinate people and processes.
  • Ready to develop her/his skills thru training & development company programs.
  • Other: Possesses a valid driving license.
  • Able to travel as per job needs.
  • Experiences: Minimum 5 years on same or similar position.

Main tasks of the manager include:

  1. Regulatory system. The manager monitors and updates all regulatory changes related to Customs procedures and others affecting her/his area of competency. Based on the coming changes prepares/proposes changes of the internal procedures and implements them in her/his job. The Manager coordinates proposals/plans with legal consultant, finance and the forwarding agency.
  2. Customs relations. The manager is responsible to create and maintain relations with relevant Customs departments thru face to face meetings and organized meetings/trainings in order to keep update on changes and to be able to find/use the right contact for company needs.
  3. Imports. Responsible to assure smooth importing of products including planning of imports, transport arrangement, coordination with Forwarding Agency, preparing and handling documents needed, payments, delivering at the w/house and sending documents back with transporter. In case of goods damaged, missing etc. prepares documents as per company procedures in cooperation with Operation Manager.
  4. Exports. Responsible to ensure exporting of FG is done as per company policies and delivery plans, on time and without any interruption. Coordinates with Planning, Transport, Finance, Forwarding Agency and Clients to assure export as per agreed delivery dates. Prepares needed documents for custom clear and company finance as per company procedures.
  5. Analyses & reconciliation. He/she analyses gets data from other departments (production, operation, finance and planning), analyses them and prepares monthly reports/data of the differences of raw materials on import/export. Based in the analyses, performs monthly process of the reconciliation with Customs associated with respective documents.
  6. Reports and documents. The Manager is responsible to prepare, or get all the documents needed for import/export, reconciliation, forwarding agency and other relevant ones, share documents with respective departments and archive them as per company procedures. She/he prepares monthly reports on time as per procedures and/or company needs.
  7. Relationships with FA and others. The manager’s duty is to manage the Fowarding Agency, crate/maintain relationships with them and all other outside agencies and company department to achieve her/his targets/KPIs.
  8. Other non-defined tasks. The manager may be assigned other tasks as per company needs within the requirements of Albanian laws, Company Code of Conduct and Internal Regulations.
