COMMERCIAL DIRECTOR
SUMMARY:To be responsible for the procurement of commodities through development and implementation of commodity relationship. Other areas of responsibility include price negotiation, planning production, inventory control, quality control. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Suppliers
  • Evaluate suppliers on multiple criteria (price, quality, service support, availability, reliability, selection etc.;
  • Identify suppliers. Establish contacts with local and foreign suppliers;
  • Manage supplier relationships and assist in building effective partnerships;
  • Make sure the supplier is capable of delivering the desired goods or services on time in the correct quantities and required quality;
  • Leads in negotiating prices, assessing supplier capabilities, selecting new suppliers, narrowing
  • supplier base, and working with suppliers to establish mutually beneficial relationships and improve their ability to provide quality, cost effective materials while minimizing inventory
  • Directs and participates in the negotiation of supplier agreement including clauses related to
  • product quality, delivery, services, duration and/or quantity commitments, price and other related business needs;
  • Represent companies in negotiating contracts and formulating policies with suppliers;
  • Oversees negotiations and management of contracts and relationships with vendors
  • Keeps a track of the quality of products and services, brands and the ongoing price of those goods;
  • Determine the best source for acquiring goods
  • Maintain superior supplier relation throughout negotiation, routine activities, supplier visitation and events;
  • Deals with faulty product replacement;
  • Responsible for analyzing, identifying and mitigating risk across the supply chain
  • Makes purchasing decisions critically impacting the financial viability of the company;
  • Assist department in developing and implementing purchasing strategies for products.

Marketing
  • Develop and implement sales promotion programs, generate ad campaigns. Stock/Products
  • Constantly seeks to improve product assortment, researches for new suppliers and product range;
  • To set with his team category assortment for units;
  • Study sales records and inventory level;
  • Maintain records of goods ordered and received;
  • Keep track of inventories and sales levels;
  • Monitors frequency of purchases and recommends possible options to leverage purchasing power;
  • Analyze market conditions, negotiate best prices in market in to order to have required margin and best selling prices;
  • The ability to predict what will appeal to consumers if they fail to purchase the right products for resale, buyers will jeopardize the profits and reputation of their company.

Policies and Procedures
  • Develop and implement purchasing and contract management instruction, policies and procedures
  • Generate and incorporate policies and procedures
  • Insures compliance with applicable state laws, regulations, company policies, procedures, work rules, standards and guidelines, etc.

Reports
  • Analyses, summarizes and/or reviews data, report’s findings, interpret results and makes recommendation;
  • Reviews documents and reconciles discrepancies, makes needed adjustments;
  • Maintaining and providing records and reposts;
  • Continually develop expertise to support growth of new projects;
  • Work closely with /Supports the Store managers;
  • Pay frequent visit to the selling floor to make sure that products are displayed appropriately;
  • Prepare reports regarding market conditions and merchandise costs.

Market Research and Market trends
  • Carries out a detailed market research and survey to find what quality products are available;
  • Check competitors sales activities;
  • Watch general economic conditions to anticipate customer buying patterns;
  • Performs advanced research on market trends, market forces, pricing, supply problems;
  • Maintain thorough awareness of company competitors and their product offerings, including where necessary competitive analysis;
  • Keep current with the latest trends;
  • Monitor competitor’s sales activities;
  • Anticipate consumer buying patterns by monitoring general economic condition.

Supervision
  • Direct and coordinate activities of personnel engaged in buying department;
  • Supervisors personnel including training, planning, managing and evaluating

REQUIREMENTS:Education: University Degree in Economic fields; Work experience: 5-6 years’ experience as Purchasing Manager, preferably in retail environment; Skills:
  • Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and some CRP systems;
  • Demonstrated advanced skills in Microsoft office/excel. - PC literacy in a window based environment;
  • Excellent oral & written communication skills;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and other systems;
  • Ability to manage multiple projects/deadlines with a strong attention to detail;
  • Strong negotiations & interpersonal skills;
  • Strong managerial & analytical skills;
  • Ability to analyze, evaluate, and multi task;
  • Flexible, ability to work independently;
  • Good management skills;
  • Compiling, coding, categorizing, calculating or verifying information or data;
  • Ability to analyze technical data in suppliers’ proposals, good communication, negotiation and mathematical skills, knowledge of supply chain management, and the ability to perform financial analyses;
  • Good at planning and decision making.
