Terre des hommes Mission in Albania is seeking to recruit a Child rights protection area and network officer based in Albania


As part of the Project Management team of the EIDHR funded project “Civil society in action for protection of child rights in Albania”, implemented by Terre des hommes and Save the Children, the Child rights protection area and network officer is in charge of the networking and knowledge capitalization component, aimed at mobilizing CSOs and CBOs in effective networks at regional and national level and facilitating their activities in the network, especially advocating for the protection of the rights of the child.


General information about Terre des hommes, Albania and Kosovo


Terre des hommes Mission in Albania and Kosovo is a non-profit making organization that has been operating for over 15 years in the field of child rights and child protection, leading the establishment and strengthening of a national child protection system in Albania and Kosovo. Terre des hommes’ area of expertise ranges from direct psycho-social interventions with vulnerable children and their family and community members, to empowerment of local, regional and national level governmental institutions and key stakeholders through capacity-building and on-the-job training in order to develop and implement proper child-sensitive structures, policies, standards and procedures. Terre des hommes has also worked to mainstream child rights and child protection issues in the social policies and strategies of the Central government through lobbying and advocacy work.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:


  • Provide on-going technical assistance and coaching to CSOs/CBOs receiving sub-grants to effectively implement project plans for the protection of children’s rights based on agreements;
  • Facilitate the work of the established CSOs’ network and of the periodical network meetings at regional and national level on child protection and child rights issues;
  • Facilitate the CSOs network in developing an advocacy agenda and plan of action for effective advocacy on child protection issues and support them for its implementation;
  • Lead the process of knowledge capitalization of the networking process and best practices for the action through developing the Best Practices in Protection of the Rights of the Child publication based on the experience of the action and sub-grantees;
  • Ensure all project activities are implemented on a timely and quality manner in accordance with Tdh program standards and in full compliance with all EU requirements;
  • Develop and maintain plan of activities in collaboration with the project team and reports on regular basis about the performance of the projects;
  • Engage in the on-going monitoring of the sub-grants as part of the Project Management staff, based on a schedule agreed with the project management team and approved by the Programme Manager;
  • Regularly monitor the timely implementation of all activities in the project areas based on the agreed M&E framework;
  • Regularly compiles project reports as per agreed reporting schedule and the format of reporting, based on M&E system designed and overseen by Tdh M&E Specialist and the Project Management team.


Qualifications and experiences


  • A Bachelor degree in relevant subject from an accredited University Degree Master in relevant subject (preferred);
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience, preferably in an NGO/international organization and child protection;
  • Strong knowledge in the field of child protection, social welfare, case management and social work including the national and international principles, approaches and policy frameworks;
  • Previous experience with projects coordination;
  • Previous experience with sub-granting scheme;
  • Previous experience with designing, organizing and facilitating trainings;
  • Excellent computer skills including: Microsoft Word, advanced Excel, Internet, Email and Power Point and demonstrated computer literacy & database management;
  • Willing to travel in the field;
  • Experience in working with partner organizations;
  • Understanding and commitment to the aims and objectives of Terre des hommes and children’s rights in Albania.


The titular will conduct his/ her duties in respect of the Child Protection Policy and the Convention of the Rights of the Child subscribed by Terre des hommes.
