Summary:
Serve as a key supporting role for the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) by assisting the CFO in managing and coordinating the work of Balfin Group’s Corporate Finance Division, with a primary focus on strategic and financial reporting, planning and analysis functions.

Duties and Responsibilities


Accounting & Reporting


  • Ensure unified accounting & reporting standards are applied across the Group.
  • Stay abreast with any change in accounting and reporting standards affecting the Group operations.
  • Provide support in proper application of new standards in financial reporting, offer assistance and guidance to Group companies’ finance departments in such matters.
  • Facilitate synergies between management accounting and tax reporting at Group level.
  • Directly supervise the accounting/reporting function for Balfin individual company.
  • Liaise with audit companies, accounting bodies and regulators.
  • Assist in implementation of new ERP systems, including upgrades and developments to tackle tailored needs in support of a proper accounting and reporting system across the Group.

Management reporting & budgeting


  • Develop the financial reporting package for all Group companies and propose changes for continues improvements to be in line with Group’s industries and business activities.
  • Develop relevant and quality financial information for senior leadership and management.
  • Assist CFO in developing and preparing key financial figures for periodic reporting to Management Board.
  • Deliver the annual and semi-annual consolidated management financial reports at Group level.
  • Assist CFO in developing the set of financial indicators to monitor Group’s companies’ performance.
  • Lead the process of annual and mid-term budget submission from group companies.
  • Monitor performance of Group’s companies against budgets, review and approve analyses prepared on that regard, and advice on any issues for performance.

Strategic & Advisory


  • Assist CFO in developing a long term financial strategy for the Group.
  • Lead and coordinate the preparation and submission for approval of business plans, project proposals and complex financing models for specific projects and/or investment opportunities.
  • Perform and/or coordinate with external advisors to complete due diligences on specific businesses and activities.
  • Perform business valuation of Group companies and other companies as requested.
  • Perform in-depth financial analysis of specific inquiries as requested by management and provide conclusions/recommendations thereof.
  • Coordinate all Corporate Finance functions including Reporting, Treasury and Tax.
  • Develops policies, procedures, and processes to promote internal controls, the safe guarding of Group’s assets, the prevention of fraud, compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and sound business practices.

Qualifications and Skills


  • Bachelor degree in Business or Finance required. ACCA/CFA certification completed or under way is a requirement. Master’s degree in Business/Finance is an asset.
  • Previous experience with a big four audit firm is an advantage
  • At least 7-10 years of progressive experience in Accounting with a strong emphasis on the Financial Analysis and Reporting.
  • At least 2-3 years of prior supervisory experience.
  • Strong analytical/quantitative skills and experience with a multi-site organization
  • Experience in presenting and preparing proposals and recommendations
  • Very attentive to details
  • Strongly result oriented, able to work unsupervised
  • Excellent capacities in team work
  • Internally motivated to seek out answers, generate ideas, and develop new skills.
  • Excellent command of English language
