Job title: VAS Support Specialist


The job holder will be responsible for:


  • Administrate and Maintain & Report of the VAS platforms operation (SMSC, MIH,USSD,Who Called & NFM, VAS Application) and Applications services (such as BalanceInfo 145 service, SMSOffers service, EasyPay service, Recharge service, PlusSpecial etj);
  • Ensure the performance and availability in SMS, DATA, USSD, MCN, VAS, BlackBerry services.
  • System Administrator for RedHat-Linux System and perform change configurations according to the technical procedures corporate with vendor and internal developer team.
  • Monitoring and auditing Vas process performance in compliance with System Operation controls and design of system.
  • Troubleshooting on IBM System and T-2000 servers and EMC storage, replacing of fault parts, re-build server and restore the backup based on respective procedures.
  • Create shell scripts to automate daily functional and system management tasks. Customizing alarms for notification alerts for VAS systems integrated in Monitoring Tools (e.g. HP Open View, Nagios).
  • Schedule procedures for health checks, troubleshooting, backups, for existing network elements.
  • Open Internal Trouble Ticket or Incident support and follow the resolution of the issues.
  • Cooperation with VAS Vendors/Third parties for hardware/software issues and Patch /Upgrade Implementation.
  • Test the new upgrade packages/new services in Test Environment before installing/launched them on the life servers and participate on internal projects for new service and acceptance of new platforms/services.
  • Follow in systematic way the New Trouble Tickets raised by Customers within SLAs.
  • Prepare and update periodical reports on internal procedures, activities and incidents, most chronic problems and costumers’ complaints.
  • Other duties as requested by direct supervisor or the head of department.


Required qualifications

  • University degree on Computer Science/Information Technology/Telecommunication Engineering;
  • Very good knowledge on the operating systems Windows, UNIX, LINUX, SUN, Oracle, VMware OS and good knowledge in DB.
  • Knowledge in IT systems and GSM (SS7, SIGTRAN, protocols (MAP, ISUP, TCAP, GSM) and 3G/DATA.
  • Preference: Good knowledge of Programming: Perl, Java and shell scripts.
  • Willing to perform stand-by duties in scheduled basis and night activities when required;
  • Capable of high volume data analysis, transformation, etc.
  • Very good analysis, planning, reporting and decision making skills;
  • Fluent English written and spoken;
  • Flexibility, confidentiality and learning capability;
  • Team working and very good communication and interpersonal skills;
